Our History
EastMed Trading & Shipping Inc. was founded by Mr. Stavros Moussoyannis in May 1994.
The company is operating in Greece, under law 5687/89 since May 1994. The company was initially set up to cater for the needs of trading and transportation of specialized project cargoes for the account of Shatton Industries Zug from various destinations where their Turn Key Projects were under development and has been active ever since in Project Cargo Trading, Shipping, Chartering, Management,Trading and Consultancy.
In February 1995, we embarked in a huge contract to export bulk cement from Romania and Russia to floating cement terminals in Egypt and Saudi Arabia and later Portugal and Spain. We entered into a partnership with Unicem SA, Lausanne and sold all cargoes on CIF basis. This project lasted 5 years and we exported a total of 8,5 Million tons over this period to Sagexport S.A. Cairo, Elfahd Co. Cairo (Egypt), Arabian Bulk Trade, Dammam (Saudi Arabia), Heidelberger Cement, Seament Holdings (Bhoury group), Rashid al Rashid (KSA), Holcim, Krupps Lonrho, BMM Madrid, CNE Cement Lisbon and many other companies. During this period we controlled a fleet of 8 Bulk carriers that conducted consecutive voyages from Constanza and Novorosiysk to Damietta Jeddah and Gizan, Spanish Mediterranean and Atlantic.
Our Strong Ties
Eastmed Inc., is comprised of two entities.
Shatton Industries group, Zug, Switzerland
Over the years, we developed strong ties and held Joint Venture subsidiaries with Shatton Industries group Zug Switzerland (Swiss company that is a major Turn-Key Project undertaker in various fields including refinery development. We have successfully been shipping all their project cargoes since 1994 worldwide, to especially remote areas such as the Nigerian Delta, Afghanistan, Somalia and other places).
BMP Trading GMBH, Munchen, Germany
In June 2003, we were awarded an exclusive agency agreement to fully represent Mssrs. BMP Trading GMBH, Munchen in Greece and the Balkans. BMP Trading were the daughter company of Yukos-Sibneft Oil Company in Russia and are active in exports of Crude Oil derivatives and petrochemicals. We intended to promote these items in the Balkans & Greece under our new marketing strategy.
MINERALES NACIONALES SpA
In October 2003 we engaged in commercial management agreement with Silverstar SA, Greece and later with Sea Hawk Maritime and have controlled the freighting of a fleet of 11 Bulk Carriers over the years as well at their commercial management.
